Sir, – Frank McNally (An Irishman's Diary, October 16th) gives an interesting history of Blacquiere Bridge in Phibsborough, Dublin.
He ends by saying that the bridge has been forgotten.
It remains the official address of Phibsborough library, which occupies ground that used to be a canal. The bridge is also commemorated by a street sign.
The canal may be gone, but the bridge still retains a ghostly existence. – Yours, etc,
