Sir, – I would like to echo the comments by Paul Doran (Letters, May 10th) – the move to reduce public transport fares across Dublin can only be a good thing.
It would be nice, however, if the powers that be would also consider those of us travelling outside the Pale. The 46km from Bray to Maynooth costs €2. Meanwhile, a one-way train ticket for my regular journey from Kildare to Dublin Heuston, just 8km further away, costs €11.95. Even the 8km journey from Kildare to Newbridge costs €4.80. – Yours, etc,
RICHARD BANNISTER,
