Sir, – I arrived from the UK last week. My friend with whom I’m staying has a cold and slight cough; I suggested we test her for Covid. I could buy a box of five lateral flow testing kits from the chemist for just short of €14. A box of seven tests is free from all chemists in England. My daughter, husband, and four schoolchildren test themselves three times a week; a not inconsiderable sum of money if they had to pay.
Needless to say I didn’t buy.
