Sir, – Michael Viney writes: "The speed limit sign warns absurdly, of the 50km per hour – this on a road scarcely more than a tractor wide, with a Mohican ridge of grass" (Another Life, June 10th). This situation is replicated at two tractor-widths on the N67 Ballyvaughan to the top of the infamous Corkscrew Hill, in Co Clare, but because of the extra width, the speed has doubled to 100 km/h. – Yours, etc,
FRANK FOLAN,
Ballyvaughan, Co Clare.
