Chemotherapy and a lift for patients

Sir, – I read Fiona Reddan's article "Car parking charges: Are hospitals making a killing?" (May 16th) with interest.

However, I would like to point out that no adult should ever have to get a bus home after chemotherapy session.

The Irish Cancer Society runs an excellent volunteer driver scheme whereby you request a drive from your home in Dublin and other cities in Ireland and the driver brings you from your home to the hospital concerned and home again, all free of charge. – Yours, etc,

SIOBHAN FITZGERALD,
