Changing the clocks

Sir, – Simon O’Connor (October 26th) may be too young to remember but in the late 1960s Britain and Ireland abandoned the twice-yearly clock change on an experimental basis.

It was deemed a failure after just two years and we reverted to the current system. – Yours, etc,
