Sir, – Derval Duggan (Letters, March 10th) lauds equality as being "at the heart of what it means to be a democracy". Indeed. However, she then concludes that the question on religion in the census should be changed to one querying whether one would like one's child to attend after-school religious instruction.
Really? Is one only entitled to an opinion on religion if one has children? Not much equality there. – Yours, etc,
