A chara, – Margaret Lee (Letters, March 23rd) advises that Sinn Féin's letter to diplomats of the European Union (News, March 22nd) presupposes a border poll.
I’m guessing this is the same border poll allowed for in the Belfast Agreement, which was supported by the majority of the Irish people in referendums held north and south.
Ms Lee also advises that “the holy grail is a united Ireland, even if the poll is won by just 1 per cent”.
Does a democratic poll have to be won by more than 1 per cent to be legitimate?
