Sir, – It’s difficult to know what Theresa May can achieve, even with another six months of anguish. While Churchill’s famous line “If you’re going through hell, keep going” has some relevance to her dealings with the EU, conversely “If you’re in a hole, stop digging” seems to apply to her situation in parliament. It’s hard to reconcile these phrases into a strategy though.
Perhaps Beckett’s “Fail again. Fail better” is her best game plan. – Yours, etc,
