Sir, – In Barry McElduff's recent statement regarding the Kingsmill controversy, he claimed that he did not intend to hurt or offend the Kingsmill families ("Sinn Féin's three-month suspension of Barry McElduff criticised", News, January 8th).
It’s clear from his Twitter video that his actual intention was to entertain his followers by mocking and humiliating the deceased victims and their families. Their suffering – their grief – is a source of amusement for Mr McElduff and he wished to share the joke. Now Sinn Féin has rewarded him with a paid holiday – not funny at all. – Yours, etc,
