Any port in a storm?

Sir, – As Dublin Port is an independent commercial company on private property, seemingly this precludes it from any responsibility to provide adequate taxis or a bus service to incoming late ferry services.

Fáilte Ireland has no responsibly to ensure there are adequate transport services for late foot passenger arrivals to Ireland.

The ferry companies’ remit is to land the passengers at the port not to get involved with their onward journeys. The National Transport Authority does not have any remit outside the scope of EU regulation 1177/2010 to enforce a standard of service for arriving passengers at the port.

Maybe Dublinbikes would provide a pop-up location at the port so late night ferry visitors and travellers can propel themselves out of the port. – Yours, etc,
