Sir, – In recent times there has been a spate of unruly passenger incidents on airlines. It is common knowledge that a significant number of these incidents are fuelled by alcohol. So why don’t we ban all alcohol from the airport waiting areas (ie inside the security checkpoint). In addition, let’s stop serving alcohol on aircraft. Shut down alcohol sales in the duty-free zones.
As someone who has from time to time flown on long flights, there is nothing as bad as a plastered individual in close quarters. This may not eliminate the unruly passenger problem entirely, but it would certainly curtail it. – Yours, etc,
