A Wicked trip to Dublin

A chara, – I rarely have the occasion to travel by train, but as I had booked tickets to see Wicked with my teenage children at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, a trip by train seemed ideal. I would save on parking costs and petrol expense, etc. Boy was I wrong!

When we got on the Enterprise in Dundalk, there were no seats in the standard class carriages although the first class carriages seemed to have space. So we stood all the way to Connolly station. On the way home it was little better: no seats, although we did manage to sit on the floor. Luxury!

Could I suggest that the Minister for Transport, Shane Ross, put his thinking cap on and try to stop this ridiculous overcrowding.

Either abolish first class carriages, or put on extra carriages.

I am fortunate in that I rarely have to travel to Dublin, but God help the commuters. Minister, forget about the “granny grant” and sort out this third world excuse for a rail service! – Is mise,
