He ‘was sat’ at the table, was he?

Sir, – I couldn’t agree more with Siobhán Denham regarding misuse of grammar (“Let’s have less of seen and done”, Letters, September 30th).

Some examples come to mind. He “was sat” at the table, he should “have went” the other way. It’s so irritating. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I may have missed a memo, but I always thought “me” was an object pronoun and “I” a subject pronoun.

However, “me” seems to have subverted “I”. For example, “me and my friends”, “me and my wife”, etc.

Maybe the problem is with “I”. – Yours, etc,
