Sir, – Pilita Clark outlines her view on appropriate sign-offs, particularly in business emails (“The email sign-offs that are really dire,” August 17th). She cites the example of an email she received ending with “KR” from someone unable or unwilling to utilise the keystrokes required to type “Kind regards”.
She gives her view on manifold sign-offs from “Cheers” to “Thanks in advance”, concluding that sticking to the rules at all times would be dull. I cannot help but wonder where she might stand on “Yours, etc”? – Yours, etc,
