Sir, – The recent heatwave has raised concerns about the adequacy of Irish homes in coping with high temperatures (“One in 10 Irish homes now at risk of overheating”, Lorcan Sirr, Opinion, July 2nd).
It is surprising more consideration is not given to using reversible heat pumps. The ability to switch from providing heating in winter to cooling in summer is a feature of the reversible heat pump and one that offers a cost-effective solution for controlling temperatures all year. – Yours, etc,
