Disappearing Dart services

There was plenty of disgruntlement among users to put it mildly

Letter of the Day

Sir, – The Dart service – a joke that’s not funny. None in operation last weekend, not for the first time this year. Today, a midday Dart from Booterstown to Greystones was running about 19 minutes late, without any explanation.

En route, at Dún Laoghaire, the driver announced that the service would run non-stop to Bray, without explanation, apart from the driver informing passengers which stops it would not be stopping at.

My guess is that the driver and management were interested catching up on lost time with no regard for passengers. There was plenty of disgruntlement among users to put it mildly, none more so than those using ear pods who were shocked to see their intended stop bypassed.

Those disembarking at Bray for their return trip were greeted by an announcement that the next northbound Dart would be delayed.

I let them know that I would vent their anger through the usual channel. – Yours, etc,

MICHAEL KEEGAN,

Booterstown,

Co Dublin.
