Camogie skorts – a dismaying decision

Let’s move with the times

Sir, – As a member of the Dublin All-Ireland winning camogie teams of 1959, 1960 and 1961, I was stunned and dismayed at the recent decision at the Camogie Association Congress to continue to ban players from wearing shorts in matches (Louise Lawless, “Skorts are meant to make camogie players more ladylike. Who asked for that?”, Opinion & Analysis, April 14th). Camogie is a great sport but young girls will not participate if the Camogie Association makes ludicrous decisions.

Integration with the GAA can’t come fast enough. – Yours, etc,

JOAN MAHER,

Dublin 13.
