Boy reported missing in Dublin found safe and well

A five-year-old boy who went missing from a park in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, at 3pm on Sunday was found safe and well several hours later.

Richard Roche, who went missing from the swings in the People’s Park at 3pm on Sunday, was found by a member of the public at the seafront in Newtownsmith Green.

Dún Laoghaire Coast Guard posted on Facebook that the young boy was found within an hour of beginning a search of the area.

Gardaí issued an appeal to the public for assistance in trying to locate Richard Roche shortly after 7pm. Meanwhile, four search teams from Dún Laoghaire Coast Guard carried out a search from the East Pier to Sandycove Beach

Before 8pm gardaí issued another press statement saying he had been located safe and well.
