The world premiere of a new festive illusion by Keith Barry will be one of the highlights of this year's Winterval festival which gets under way on November 21st in Waterford.

This is the third annual Winterval event and it has grown to become Ireland’s largest Christmas festival, with a market featuring 60 log cabins along with a trail of 32 different events planned for the five weeks of its duration.

Visitors

Mr Barry, an international illusionist and a native of Waterford, yesterday launched details of this year’s festival programme which runs in the city until December 23rd and is likely to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to the southeast.

Details of the illusion have been written down and will be kept under Christmas wrapping in a tamper-proof exhibition case at the Waterford Museum of Treasures. Members of the public can guess the illusion in advance for a chance to attend the festival in style.
