Irish Distillers has two graduate programmes for applicants.

The Jameson Graduate Distiller programme, established in 2012, recruits two science or engineering students each year who are based at the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, Co Cork, or at the bottling and logistics site in Dublin.

The main graduate programme on offer is the Jameson International Graduate Programme, which was established in 1991 to recruit brand ambassadors, is now in its 25th year.

Sinéad D’Arcy, Jameson’s international graduate programme manager, says the programme has constantly evolved over the 25-year period to meet the changing needs of the business and of the graduates themselves.

D’Arcy advises those applying to build up a portfolio of experience and skills through gaining relevant work experience tailored to the area you are interested in.

“Internships are a great way to do this but there are other ways to build up these skills too such as volunteering, organising events to raise money for charity or becoming an active member of a college society or local club.

“Learning an international language is always a plus,” she says.
