Two people arrested after firearms seized from Dublin property

Gardaí conducted a search of a property in the Tallaght area shortly after 4pm on Friday

Two people have been arrested in connection with the seizure of two firearms during a search of a property in Dublin on Friday.

As part of an intelligence-led operation, gardaí conducted a search of a property in the Tallaght area shortly after 4pm. Two shotguns were recovered from the property during the search. Both firearms have been sent to the Garda Ballistics Unit for analysis.

A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the seizure following further investigations on Wednesday.

Both are currently detained at Tallaght Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939. Investigations are ongoing.
