The family of a man who has been missing with his partner for more than a week have said they are “gravely concerned” for his safety.

Gardaí issued a renewed appeal on Thursday for information about the whereabouts of 34-year-old Willie Maughan and his Latvian partner Anastasija Varslavane (20).

Mr Maughan’s parents have suggested he may have fallen foul of a criminal gang due to knowledge he has in relation to their activities.

Mr Maughan is described as 5ft 8in height, of athletic build, with a shaved head and green eyes.

It is not known what he was wearing when last seen

Ms Varslavane has been living in Ireland for a number of years and is known as Anna. She is 5ft 6in height, of slim build, and has long dark hair.

Both were known to frequent the Balbriggan, Stamullen and Gormanston areas, and were last seen in each other’s company between 2pm and 3pm in the Gormanston area of Co Meath on April 14th.
