Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information regarding the killing of David Darcy after the sentencing of Rose Lynch yesterday for the murder in the Special Criminal Court.

Mr Darcy, a van driver, was shot dead on Monday, November 28th, 2011 as he left for work at Cherry Orchard Avenue, Ballyfermot, Dublin.

Gardaí investigating the role of other parties in the murder want to hear from anyone with information about the movements of a dark blue Opel Astra, registration 99 CE 3047, used in the killing, which was stolen on November 23rd of that year, five days before the murder.

It was found burned out at Inagh Road, Ballyfermot, shortly after the killing.

Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious on Cherry Orchard Avenue or on Inagh Road on the morning of the murder.

They are particularly appealing to anyone who was passing through this area on November 28th, such as taxi and bus drivers or people going to work, or any other person who has information in relation to the murder to contact Ballyfermot Garda station on 01- 6667200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
