Gardaí in east Cork are continuing to search for a gang who stole up to €250,000 worth of computer equipment from a warehouse early yesterday.
The raid took place at the depot of courier company Securispeed at Brooklodge East, near Glanmire, between 3am and 5am.
Three men entered the premises and tied up four members of staff before removing a substantial amount of computer equipment from the warehouse over a two-hour period.
A Garda spokesman said it was believed the gang got away in vehicles owned by the company, including a gold-and-red Isuzu Trooper with the registration number 89 C 17846 and a white Scania rigid truck with the registration 98 D 73143.
The staff were not hurt, but were said to be extremely shocked. One freed himself after the raiders left and called gardaí.
It has not been established whether the raiders were armed, but investigations by Cobh gardaí are continuing and the depot was sealed off for technical examination.
The company carried out stocktaking to assess the precise value of the stolen equipment.
"We are appealing to any member of the public who may have any information in relation to this incident or who may have seen anything suspicious to contact us at Cobh Garda station," said the Garda spokesman.
