Dubliners are spoilt for choice with late screenings in no less than 14 city centre pubs and clubs, including DTwo, Peadar Kearney’s and The Woolshed.
Big events are also being lined up in seven other counties, including Flannery's Bar in Co Limerick, The Stock Exchange in Co Galway and Kehoe's Bar in Co Dundalk.
Dolphin Rugby Club in Cork have even chosen to desert the old egg for a different oval-shaped ball on Sunday night, with a live appearance from the Cork Admirals cheerleaders thrown in for measure.
Temple Bar Tradfest
The capital's premier traditional music celebration swings into gear this weekend, with appearances from a host of internationally renowned acts, including Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan and The Undertones.
The Derry five-piece will be joined on stage this evening by Waterford band Danú, who make an appearance at St Werburgh's Church. There's also an hour-long concert in the atmospheric surrounds of Christ Church Cathedral with music from L'Air du Temps.
Pregnancy and Baby Fair trade show
Ireland's biggest trade show for the nursery market comes to the RDS Industries Hall this Sunday. Exhibitions from Irish distributors and well-known international brands will be taking place, along with a number of product launches.
Entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners will also have an opportunity to share tips and learn from the best at a networking night which will be held in the nearby Bridge 1859 bar in Ballsbridge.
International rugby
The Ireland Wolfhounds take on the England Saxons in what will be a largely experimental fixture ahead of the big Six Nations kick-off next weekend.
Both squads will relish the opportunity to stake a claim for their respective first teams ahead of what promises to be an ultra-competitive campaign, with the Irish team boasting household names such as Gordon D'Arcy, Keith Earls and Luke Fitzgerald.
The match takes place in Musgrave Park, and will also be shown live on RTÉ and Sky television.
Tommy Tiernan
The eccentric Meath man returns to the stage at his spiritual home of Vicar Street as he brings his aptly-named Out of the Whirlwind show to the capital on Friday and Saturday night.
Dublin comic Jason Byrne will also be doing a one-night-only performance at the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire this evening.
Australia Day Ball
It may be happening almost a week late, but Irish-based Aussies are keen not to pass up the opportunity of a good knees-up in recognition of their national day.
Along with a three course meal and a selection of Australian wines in Dublin's Radisson Blu hotel on Saturday, live music will be provided by the Late Late Show's very own Camembert Quartet, while revellers will also be treated to an address by Australian ambassador to Ireland Dr Ruth Adler.
