Sandwiches and nice cakes are a speciality here in the café. The building has lots of historic connections, having held meetings during the War of Independence. Decent food and well-priced.

There's a real effort to provide local food in the hotel, with two courses available for €21.45 and three courses with coffee for €26.95. There's also an a la carte menu and tea and fresh scones throughout the day.

The bar of the Castle Hotel does a fine carvery daily from noon until 3pm and other types of bar food for the rest of the day. There's also an a la carte menu in the restaurant, and the service in both the bar and the restaurant is excellent.
