Optimism at holiday show

Tour operators at the Holiday World Show, which opened in Dublin yesterday, report an uptick in business on last year, with holidays to the US and long-haul destinations faring well. More than 2,000 travel representatives from 70 countries are at the show, which runs all weekend at the RDS Simmonscourt. Visitors can experience 10 different “worlds” under one roof, as well as a large area dedicated to holidays in Ireland. The show is open today and tomorrow from 11am to 5.30pm. Tickets cost €7 for adults, €3 for students and €4 for OAPs.
