It’s time to dust off your classic car and take it out of winter hibernation.

Organisers of Jumpstart – which attracts Volkswagen enthusiasts – have issued an open invitation for anyone with a vintage VW to come to the small Co Tipperary village of Loughmore on Saturday (April 23rd).

Each year more than 100 classic and vintage VWs line the village street in a sea of colour and chrome.

This Saturday will be the third year the event has been in Loughmore, with more than 130 vintage VWs – from Beetles and Campervans to Variants and Fastbacks – expected to arrive in the quiet village.

Last year, Ireland’s oldest driving VW – a 1950 Karmann Convertible Beetle – made the journey to Co Tipperary from Dublin.

There is no entry or display cost, and there will be fundraising for Barretstown – a camp for children with cancer and other serious illnesses located in Co Kildare – through raffle ticket sales and donations.
