TUESDAY Oklahoma! - the exclamation mark is crucial to the success of the show - was the first collaboration between Rodgers and Hammerstein. It's the story of Laurey and the two rivals for her affections: Curly, a cowboy and Jud the farmhand. The show contains classics such as Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin' and People Will Say We're In Love. Town Hall Theatre, Galway. Tickets €16/1€3. Call 091-569777 for more details.

WEDNESDAY Many's the night we spent as teenagers downstairs in Bruxelles posing in our heavy eyeliner, pale make-up and black-and-white striped tights. "The Zodiac Sessions" open mic night is more than enough to tempt us back to this great music pub. 8.30pm. Admission free. Call 01-6775362.

MC David McWilliams stirs it up at Leviathan, Ireland's only political cabaret. The music is usually top-notch too. Crawdaddy, Harcourt Street. Admission €20. Details: 01-4780225.

FRIDAY The press release for Naas Country Market arrived smudged in what we hope was biscuit crumbs, but could have been anything really. This rustic presentation merely adds to the authenticity of this award-winning market where you can find veg, plants, flowers, cakes, breads, jams, eggs and a variety of crafts. Naas Town Hall every Friday, 10am-noon.
