Kiehl’s overnight success, ameliorating frizz and how to get minted

kiehlsOvernight success

One of the nicest ways to tuck yourself up in bed is with Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Basically you go to bed with so-so skin and wake up with a hydrated glow. With those kinds of results, it’s no surprise it’s a bestseller (one is sold every minute somewhere on the planet) and an obvious choice for a fundraising partnership. Singer Alicia Keys, co-founder of Keep a Child Alive, is lending her name to raise money and awarness for the charity, which supports children with HIV and has helped more than 300,000 children and their families. All of the proceeds will be donated. That’s €42 well-spent then. Available at Kiehl’s, Wicklow Street, and Arnotts, Henry Street, Dublin.

Keeping calm
April showers may bring the flowers but they also encourage hair to frizz up like nobody's business.

Frizz can be tamed with John Frieda’s original serum, still the best on the market. A new addition to the range is Unwind Curls Calming Crème, which turns Shirley Temple corkscrews into languid loose waves by relaxing the hair shaft into wavy submission.

Widely available, €6.30.

mint3Minted

Success continues for Galway based Cloon Keen candle company, with its ‘Minted’ candle shortlisted for best new home fragrance at the Fragrance Foundation awards in May. The awards are the perfume equivilant of the Oscars, so its quite a coup for a niche company from Kirwans Lane in Galway to be nominated. Fans of the range are include Michelle Obama, who favours the Antique Library candle at the White House, and stockists include the very chi-chi Les Senteurs scent boutique in London. Go Galway!
