The feelgood factor

One of Elemis’s bestsellers has changed its colours for summer – and for charity. Papaya Enzyme Peel is an exfoliator with a difference. Its non-granular texture is perfect for sensitive or mature complexions and the papaya and pineapple freshen and brighten morning skin. The limited editions feature the work of artist Laura Oakes, and each one sold will fund a vaccination against five diseases for a child in Africa.

What’s your make up must-have?

Vaseline is a great, cheap all-rounder. It can be used as an eye make-up remover. It’s also great for fixing chapped lips. I use it to keep my eyebrows in shape and to calm any stray hairs.

Do you stick to a tried and trusted skincare regime or are your shelves heaving with the latest products?

I’m lucky as I get to try many different skincare products. Image skincare is a favourite right now – it works on a cellular level for visible results. Dermalogica is a fragrance-free, no-nonsense, comforting range that I have relied on it for a long time and it hasn’t let me down so far.

What’s your favourite fragrance?

Pomegranate Noir from Jo Malone – it comes in a 30ml handbag size, which is great when I’m on the go. I have the candle in the same fragrance for home.

What’s your personal tip for looking good?

Remember, good skincare is easy. Eight to nine hours sleep every night will help to rejuvenate the body. Put stress into perspective. If you feel good, you’ll look good.

What’s your relationship with your hair?

I look forward to getting my blow-dry once a week. Sobe Brown salon will always try different hairstyles, my hair always looks well groomed and of course looks better than my own DIY job.

Indian takeaway

How about this for a smoky eye? These lovelies were pictured backstage at the Chanel Paris-Bombay Metiers d'Art show, where the fashion elite were treated to a spectacular show of jaw-dropping opulence which mixed the cultures of the two cities with a bit of rock'n'roll attitude, dreadlocks and all. Creative director Peter Philips kept the focus on the eyes, using Illusion d'Ombres in shade Mirifique, then swept effervescent gold along cheekbones and eyelids for a shimmering finish using the beautifully embossed palette, Route des Indes. This collection has something for all tastes, from low-key lips to high-octane eyes – and check out Diwali, a shade for nails that mixes old gold with silver reflections. You can watch the fashion show online at chanel.com. The products will be available from Wednesday next at the Chanel boutique in Brown Thomas, Dublin.
