On Monday morning, some 41,000 premises were without power and 40,000 without water amid freezing temperatures and disruptive snowfall in parts of Ireland. Schools and childcare facilities have been closed in parts of the country, while the HSE has said a number of hospitals have cancelled outpatient and day services.
A nationwide Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning is in place until midday on Thursday, warning of potentially hazardous travelling conditions, travel disruption and icy patches. Met Éireann has said the cold snap will persist, predicting low temperatures across the country until Friday. You can follow live updates on the situation here.
