The yellow warning for ice and cold temperature is over, Met Éireann has said.
It will remain cold and frosty for the rest of the day with some good sunny spells developing across the country.
It will stay mainly dry apart from the odd light shower in the far south.
Temperatures will range between 2 and 5 degrees.

Overnight, it will stay mainly dry but it’ll be very cold as skies clear and winds fall light.
Temperatures will fall to -3 to 1 degrees with widespread frost and some icy patches expected.
A cold weather advisory will remain in place until 10.30pm on Friday.
During this time, there will be sharp or severe frost, icy patches and dense fog at times leading to hazardous or dangerous travelling conditions.
Wednesday will have a very cold start to the day, with frost and ice slowly clearing as some good winter sunshine develops later in the morning.
A little cloud will develop in the afternoon but it will stay mostly dry with highs of 3 to 7 degrees in an easterly breeze.
It will be quite cold overnight too with lows of 0 to -2 degrees for western counties with some frost and ice but staying a little milder in the east
The chilly conditions will stay through Thursday too with the best of any sunshine to be had in the west.
Further east it will remain cloudy with limited sunny spells and highest temperatures will range from 4 to 7 degrees in an easterly breeze.
The Government has advised people to be more careful on the roads due to the icy conditions throughout the week.
During your journey remember the following:
- keep a sharp lookout for pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users
- keep your windows clear of snow during your journey
- manoeuvre gently and avoid harsh braking, acceleration or steering as these can induce a skid
- use the highest gear possible to reduce the engine revs as this will help avoid wheel spin.
