Herb garden : Kitty Scully, presenter of RTÉ TV show How To Create A Garden will give a free talk on herbs tomorrow at 2pm in the Garden Pavilion at Powerscourt Estate, Enniskerry, Co Wicklow. Scully will give advice on starting a herb garden, the correct soil and seed types, how to harvest herbs and use them in cooking as well as for medicinal and beauty purposes. Admission free, no booking required.

Dermatology : Skin and Colour – a tale of art and physiology is the theme of Prof Erwin Tschachler's public talk tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Royal Hibernian Academy, Ely Place, Dublin. Tschachler is the Professor of Dermatology at Vienna Medical University, Austria, and the lecture is part of a series organised by the Irish Skin Foundation, irishskinfoundation.ie

Living with pain : Chronic Pain Ireland (CPI) will host a free conference Living with Chronic Pain at 7:30pm on April 12th in the Clarion Hotel, Cork City.
