Unit 4, The Point Village, Dublin. Daily noon-8pm. Until Jun 24th
In a pop-up era, why not stage a pop-up art biennial? That’s what artist Maggie Magee thought and, in association with Sol Art Gallery she devised the Dublin Biennial Pop-Up Exhibition, rounding up some 55 artists from 20 countries. It’s an eclectic list. Yoko Ono easily heads the bill with her Wish Tree for Ireland, part of her current international project to round up a million wishes, all to be gathered in Iceland in her Imagine Peace Tower. Other international participants include Xinxin Zhi, from China (whose Love Letters is pictured above), Brazilian Christina Otticica and Americans Ellen Rothenberg and Anne Wilson. Irish artists include Eileen McDonagh, Michelle Browne, Olwen Fouéré, Rod Coyne and Fergal McCarthy, who will perform a work conceived for the Bloomsday opening of the biennial.
