Withings has been doing body analysing scales for few years now, offering fitness enthusiasts insight into their muscle mass, body water content and cardiovascular health simply by standing on the scales every day.

Now, the company has unveiled its newest version, the Body Scan scales, which not only measures the standard metrics but is capable of analysing segments of your body – the muscle mass in your arms, for example, or legs. Its cardiac measuring abilities have been expanded too, from assessing your vascular age to also measuring heart rhythm with a six-lead ECG.

The Body Scan scales can also assess nerve activity in your feet, which can be an indicator of certain chronic diseases.

All the data goes to the accompanying smart app, to give you an overview of your health, and the scales itself has a rechargable battery that lasts up to a year. The scales isn’t on sale yet, although it is expected to make an appearance in the second half of the year.
