Strong growth for KamaGames as it increases users, revenue

Social poker operator says new games, tournaments and promotions boosted trade

Dublin-based KamaGames said its business showed strong growth last year as revenue rose 33 per cent, marking a third year of strong growth for the company.

The social mobile poker operator, which moved to Dublin in 2012, said revenue was $76.4 million (€68 million) for 2018, up from $57.5 million in 2017.

Daily active users of the games grew to 630,000 for the year, rising 23.5 per cent on 2017 figures.

KamaGames implemented a number of initiatives throughout the year to boost its numbers, including adding new games, new tournaments, adding personalised promotional campaigns for users to boost paying customers and average revenue per user, and in-app reward advertising through Unity Ads.

KamaGames' chief executive Andrey Kuznetsov said the company was eyeing further growth in the coming year. "Throughout 2019 KamaGames will build on this impressive growth, which we are proud to report was double the growth of the overall market in 2018, by continuing to grow our social casino portfolio as well as entering new markets with regionally popular card games," he said.

“We are also looking forward to being able to make a number of key partnership announcements with some well-known global brands through the year; 2019 is going to be another very exciting year for KamaGames.”

Mr Kuznetsov said the company planned to play a significant role in the growth of mobile gaming, improving engagement in its portfolio, personalising game events and increasing socialisation between players.

Established in 2010, KamaGames employs more than 250 staff at its corporate headquarters in Dublin, and its offices in London and Dubai.
