Belfast-listed technology company Kainos has bought a site for its Belfast headquarters, snapping up the current home of the Movie House Cinema at Bankmore Square.

The company, which provides digital services and platforms, plans to submit a revised planning application for the site, which already has planning permission for a replacement 250,000 square foot Grade A office building.

Kainos, which employs 1,400 people worldwide, said it plans to move into the new headquarters in spring 2021.

"Our people remain central to everything we do and we want to ensure that our staff work in the best environment possible, and Bankmore Square allows us the opportunity to create a superb, modern and innovative office for our people," said chief executive Brendan Mooney.
