Irish telecoms firm Digiweb has bought the retail assets of Belgian internet service provider Mondial Telecom, bringing new jobs to its operations in Dundalk.

The move means Digiweb acquires around 25,000 residential and small to medium sized business customers in the region, providing broadband, fixed line and mobile phone services.

The Irish-based firm said its Belgian business was managed from Ireland, and it had already begun recruitment for additional positions at its operational centre to deal with the expansion.

The value of the all-cash transaction was not disclosed.
