Hiring software company Greenhouse Software is to create 100 jobs at its Irish operation over the next two years, amid growing demand for its technology.

The expansion will bring to 160 the number of people employed at its Dublin office.

It is recruiting for roles in sales, marketing, customer success and support, professional services and talent acquisition, with the jobs being offered on a hybrid basis. Employees may work from home or attend the office, with some staff already located in Cork, Limerick, Wexford and Galway.

The expansion comes as Greenhouse targets further growth in Europe, with demand growing for modern hiring and onboarding technology.

Daniel Chait, chief executive and co-founder of Greenhouse, said the company was seeing huge demand across Europe as companies look to increase their commitment to diversity and fairness.

“We tackle one of the most important problems that companies have, which is that they have to compete for and win talent,” he said. “If you’re going to be a great company today, you have to be great at hiring. Since the beginning, Greenhouse has offered to help companies become great at hiring.”

Greenhouse opened its Irish office in January 2020, establishing its Europe, Middle East and Africa headquarters here weeks ahead of the pandemic lockdown.

Best talent

"It was a response to the fact that our customer base was increasingly global," said Mr Chait. "We were seeing lots of existing customers and demand from not only Ireland but from the rest of Europe. In order to succeed, we have to compete for the best talent and we wanted access to a highly educated, multilingual tech-savvy workforce. We saw that in Dublin."

The company has accelerated its growth here, despite the ongoing pandemic, supported by a major investment from TPG and The Rise Fund in January 2021. Greenhouse has seen sales revenue grow 50 per cent in the year to date, and recently surpassed $110 million in annual recurring revenue.

Greenhouse is based in New York City, and has offices in San Francisco, Denver and Dublin. The company has more than 5,500 customers, with more than 700 in Europe. It counts HubSpot, Intercom, LearnUpon, Poppulo, Webdoctor and Booking. com among its clients served by the European office.

“Job creation is booming across Europe. Since January 2021, the Greenhouse platform has seen EMEA customers increase the average number of monthly hires they’re making by over 30 per cent,” said Colm O’Cuinneain, general manager for EMEA at Greenhouse. “With demand for talent so high, it’s a candidate’s world. Companies must deliver a better experience for candidates by having clear hiring strategies that create a culture of purpose, so candidates feel they belong and can express their identity.”

Skills

The news of the expansion was welcomed by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar. "Remote and hybrid working offers great potential to businesses, their employees and communities across Ireland, and we want to see it become a permanent part of life after Covid," he said. "It's fantastic to see Greenhouse Software embrace the opportunity hybrid work can provide. The 100 new jobs being announced today are a real boost and are a testament to the skills and talent to be found within Ireland's tech ecosystem."

The company is also being supported by the Government through IDA Ireland. "The decision made by Greenhouse Software to significantly expand its workforce in Ireland to serve its growing customer base across the EMEA region is very welcome," said Mary Buckley, executive director of IDA Ireland. "By operating a hybrid model, Greenhouse Software will be able to recruit talented people across all regional locations in Ireland."
