Irish technology company Espion is to create 35 new jobs in Dublin, as it expands staff numbers in the areas of information security and eDiscovery.

The company said new EU data protection rules, widely expected to be adopted in 2015, will keep the information governance and eDiscovery sectors on their trajectory of strong growth.

Consequently the firm plans to hire 35 information security and eDiscovery consultants in the coming months.

“New regulations are likely to raise the bar for compliance and could stipulate fines of up to five per cent of global turnover for data breaches,” he added.

Espion recently ranked on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for a ninth consecutive year, with 2014 revenues growing by more than 35 per cent over the previous year.
