The importance of securing the supply chain, the route through which many large scale cyberattacks have taken place such as the high profile attack on retail giant Target, will be examined at an event in Dublin this Thursday.
The Secure Computing Forum, organised by Data Solutions, will outline the major security threats facing Irish businesses today and will provide a comprehensive understanding of the main challenges, offering strategic advice on best practice methods to combat cybercrime.
Speakers at the event include Institute of Cyber Security director Dr Ciarán McMahon, Check Point Software Technologies head of UK and Ireland Simon Moor, global cyber security specialist James Lyne and Holger Spohn, CIS security supervisor at Nato.
The event will also see the publication of Data Solutions’ most recent survey, which found 20 per cent of Irish businesses have been held to ransom by a hacker.
3XE Digital conference
Separately, more than 500 digital marketing professionals and business owners are expected to converge on Croke Park this Wednesday for the 3XE Digital social media and content marketing conference.
Uber marketing manager Cian Kennedy, Wolfgang Digital chief executive Alan Coleman, Forbes content marketing influencer Jeff Bullas, ICAN social media manager Dervla McGiven and model/author Roz Purcell are among the line-up of speakers at the event.
Conference director Adrian Hopkins said content marketing was unheard of 10 years ago but was now moving incredibly fast alongside social media, with the number of marketing options, from Facebook to Twitter, Instagram to Snapchat, often appearing daunting to business people.
