Games firm Bethesda kicked off the E3 press conferences in Los Angeles, showcasing its plans for a new version of Doom, more details on Fallout 4 and a host of other new games.

The company was holding its first press conference at the event, ahead of regulars Microsoft, Sony and EA.

It had plenty to say. Bethesda, which recently released a short trailer for Fallout 4, gave more details about the upcoming game, including a November release date for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Fallout is also going mobile with a new free to play game on iOS, Fallout Shelter, that puts players in charge of a state-of-the-art underground Vault with the aim of keeping Dwellers happy and protected from the Wasteland.

The event kicked off with a gore-filled look at the new Doom, complete with multiplayer and Snapmap, a new in-game level editor

A Dishonored follow-up, Dishonored 2, was also unveiled at the event, joining a re-release of the original for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Dishonored: Definitive Edition. The sequel, set for release next spring, will allow players to choose between two characters, the overthrown empress Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano from the original game.

Also on the way is Battlecry, a class-based shooter, and the Elder Scrolls Legends, which is a free to play strategy card game for PC and iPad set in the world of Tamriel due for launch later this year. Battlecry will open its global beta in the autumn.
