Denis O'Brien has made an approach to buy the Four Seasons hotel in Dublin, according to the Sunday Times. The 200-bed hotel is owned by London and Regional, a UK property group owned by Ian and Richard Livingstone. The Livingstones bought the hotel in 2011 for around €15 million; it is now estimated to be worth €50 million.

Irish Water sidesteps €460m debt

Local authorities debts of €460 million associated with water infrastructure will not now be transferred to Irish Water, the Sunday Business Post reports.

The public utility is in the process of negotiating loan facilities from a syndicate of domestic and international banks and the decision has been taken in that context, according to the paper.

Dunne creditors eye pension

The creditors of bankrupt developer Sean Dunne have turned their attention to his €1 million pension pot, according to the Sunday Business Post. Pension pots are protected from creditors under US law, but the paper says that Nama and other creditors may seek to access it under Irish legislation because Mr Dunne has also declared bankruptcy in this country.

Reynier buys Waterford brewery

Scottish Whiskey distiller Mark Reynier has bought the former Diageo brewery in Waterford. Diageo spend €40 million to acquire and refurbish the site in 2005, but the price of the sale was not disclosed according to the Sunday Business Post.
