Seán Moncrieff will return to television as the presenter of TV3 game show Crossfire , the third co-production to emerge from the group's Sony HD Studio so far this year.

Made by TV3's 3Studios and Gong Media (part of the Nordic production group Nice), the fast-paced Crossfire will premiere on March 28th and continue on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm.

The 20-part, half-hour show features four competitors attempting to force each other out of the game during three rounds of general knowledge questioning, with the ultimate aim of winning €2,000.

Four celebrity versions of the show will also be
broadcast.

"The format of the game means contestants will be singled out from early on, which of course makes for great telly," says Moncrieff.

Marketplace
TV3 group is steadily positioning itself as a producer of entertainment shows fit for international acquisition, as it seeks to lessen its reliance on advertising. Keith Barry: Brain Hacker and The Lie will be showcased at the MIP television marketplace in Cannes in April, with The Lie already attracting interest from a French broadcaster.

It is also in talks with three other potential co-production partners about new formats.

The Lie , which began its run last week, will return for a second series, TV3 group director of content Jeff Ford has confirmed. Hosted by Moncrieff's Newstalk colleague Jonathan McCrea, the game show attracted an average of 209,000 viewers in its first three episodes.
