Manufacturing firm HeartSine Technologies is to create 40 jobs in Belfast, it said on Tuesday.

The company, which was established in 1997, designs, develops and manufactures automated external defibrillators which are sold in more than 70 countries. Its customers include the Los Angeles Lakers, the New South Wales Police Force and the US government.

Invest Northern Ireland has offered £360,000 in support towards the creation of the new jobs, 15 of which are already in place. The positions include senior management, sales, manufacturing, new product development, R&D, quality and customer support roles.

The new jobs will contribute an estimated £1.3 million a year in salaries to the local economy.
