Boundary Capital might be only five years old, but the group has an impressive track record of investments.
Having initially acted primarily as a deal maker in the "take privates" of educational materials company Riverdeep and retailer Arnotts, Boundary has taken two companies to market since 2005.
The first was Veris, a property management group formerly known as Irish Estates.
The company floated in late 2005 at €1.30 a share. Its shares closed in Dublin yesterday at €4.05 each and it has a market value of €103.8 million.
Niall McFadden is Veris's chairman and its biggest shareholder. Last week he bought 350,000 ordinary shares for €3.95 each. He now owns 5.6 million shares or 22 per cent of the equity, which is worth €22.7 million.
Last November, Siteserv, a company that provides scaffolding, fencing and other services to the construction industry, floated in junior stock markets in Dublin and London.
The shares debuted at 55 cent apiece and now trade at 94 cent. Siteserv has a market capitalisation of €94.8 million.
Its shares traded as high as €1.36 each in early January but have fallen back as sentiment towards the construction sector has softened on concerns about the property market.
Boundary is also believed to have agreed a deal to acquire Buy & Sell, and is the main backer of iRadio, which holds a regional youth licence for the northwest.
Its joint venture property fund, RQB, was behind the purchase last year of the Sawgrass Marriott resort and spa in Florida.
