Sage has been announced as title sponsor for The Irish Accountancy Awards programme, which culminates with an awards ceremony on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.
The Irish Accountancy Awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the accountancy profession in Ireland.
Launched in 2016, the awards garner entries from firms, both large and small, teams and individuals who have provided the highest quality of service and can demonstrate they have added significant value and competitive advantage to their client organisations.
Since its inception the Irish Accountancy Awards have been synonymous with honouring and celebrating excellence within the accountancy profession over the past year.
The awards cover 25 categories and offer an opportunity for professionals to have their work meticulously reviewed by an expert judging panel, garner recognition from peers, benchmark against competitors and attract top talent and clients to their organisations.
According to a 2024 analysis by Oxford Economics, the accountancy services sector in Ireland employs about 30,000 people in both accountancy and non-accountancy roles. It is estimated that businesses in Ireland spend about €3.4 billion on external accountancy services annually.
Karen Ainley, senior vice-president, accountants at Sage commented: “Sage is honoured to continue its title sponsorship of the Irish Accountancy Awards 2025 for the fifth year in a row.
“Accountants and book-keepers are critical to the small and mid-sized businesses that drive the economy in Ireland. As a key partner, Sage is working with practices to guide them through this time of extraordinary change in the industry, driven by the onset of digitisation, heightened client expectations, and fast-moving technology advancements.
“These awards play a pivotal role in acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of accountants and book-keepers in Ireland.”
In the Sage annual report for 2024, Steve Hare, chief executive officer, noted that the company is integrating AI into more business workflows and has made important progress in developing Sage Copilot, its generative AI-based digital assistant.
To simplify its proposition and provide greater value to customers, Sage has also launched integrated product suites in selected business areas and verticals.
“By helping SMBs thrive, Sage is bringing benefits to our communities and wider society, delivering technology‑enabled growth and powering the digital economy,” Hare added.
Kevin O’Driscoll, director of partner programmes at Business River, the organiser of the Irish Accountancy Awards, stated: “The Irish Accountancy Awards celebrate the brightest and the best. Having an organisation of the calibre of Sage supporting us for a fifth year is an extremely important validation of the event.
“Together with Sage and all our sponsors and partners we now look forward to the eagerly anticipated gala awards night in May.”
