WOMEN'S HOCKEY:Three internationals against Spain over the next four days will give Ireland coach Darren Smith his first chance to watch his players in competitive action as the squad completes its training camp in Valencia.

Ireland will play their hosts today, tomorrow and on Monday as part of their build-up to the World League II in the same city later this month when they will be in a pool with Spain, the Czech Republic, Belarus and Italy.

Back home the Leinster Division One tie of the weekend looks like leaders UCD against third-placed Loreto at Beaufort, with both sides shy of their internationals.

Railway Union’s 6-1 win on Monday against North Kildarebrought them level on points with UCD although trailing on goal difference.

Railway play Pembroke Wanderers tomorrow, while Old Alexandra are away to Kildare. Hermes play Corinthian and Glenanne play Trinity.
